Craniosacral Fascial Therapy

Craniosacral fascial therapy (CFT) is a gentle, non-invasive therapeutic technique that can help with decreasing tension in the body’s fascia and decreasing restrictions in the craniosacral system. The craniosacral system includes the bones of the skull, the spine, and the membranes and fluids that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord. What sets CFT (craniosacral fascial therapy) apart from CST (craniosacral therapy) is its emphasis on the fascia – the connective tissue that holds everything together in our bodies, including our organs, glands, nerves, muscles, blood vessels, brain, and spinal cord!

Because the human body is interconnected, both structurally and functionally, pain, tension, stress, or trauma to one system or area can negatively impact the functionality of another part or system. CFT works to reduce this stress, tension, or dysfunction by improving the fluidity and flexibility of the fascia, increasing the flow of cerebral spinal fluid, and increasing healthy communication, connectivity, and reciprocity between the brain and body. As a result, individuals who have undergone surgery, who experience chronic pain, headaches, migraines, or high stress, who have a history of constipation, IBS, or other gut-health issues, or who struggle with insomnia or other sleep disturbances may greatly benefit from this treatment intervention.
