Tom is a clinical therapist and autism specialist. He earned his undergraduate and graduate degrees in clinical social work from Grand Valley State University and Western Michigan University, and gained direct experience working in and alongside court systems, schools, residential treatment centers, and community mental health facilities.
Tom is a published author on the complexities of autism spectrum disorders (ASD), and specializes in working with neurodiverse adolescent and adult males. Tom has over 30 years of clinical experience working with children and families in residential, outpatient, and community mental health settings. He is an advocate for those with ASD, and is well-versed in various theoretical frameworks, treatment modalities, and research trends as they pertain to the understanding, diagnosis, and treatment of various psychological disorders and differences, particularly autism spectrum disorders.
